The port of call is Sodus Bay Skippers Landing Restaurant and Marina in Wolcott, NY You will be fishing out of a 34 ft. Amberjack Sea Ray that comfortably seats up to six people and has twin Mercruiser 454 engines installed. Our captain supplies all the equipment for fishing, including top-of-the-line electronics and radar, Scotty downriggers, and Okuma rods and reels. Additionally, our captain will clean all the fish you’ve caught for the day.

David Urban, Captain and U.S. Army Veteran

David is a Master Captain licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard. He started fishing with his grandfather at the age of seven and has not quit the hobby ever since.

For David, what began as a pastime suddenly turned into a passion. He has been fishing for more than 30 years now, and he wants other people to experience the calmness of being connected with nature and the creatures that live in it. For this reason, David established My Way Charters in 2010, a company that is built upon a passion for fishing.

Having obtained captain training and licensing, David knows the importance of ensuring the safety of his passengers. In addition, because he had been fishing almost his entire life, he has gained a deep understanding of fish patterns and migrations. He knows how to adapt to seasons, ensuring high fish captivity rate for clients.

Fishing Seasons on Lake Ontario and Sodus Bay

  • April

    Are you looking for a worthwhile activity to do with your family or friends during spring vacation? Fishing can be your great option! The month of April is a good time to catch brown trout, coho salmon, and lake trout.

  • May and June

    Steelhead trouts are considered to be some of the most elusive game fishes in North America. If you’re up to the challenge, we highly recommend embarking on a trout fishing adventure with us! The months of May and June are also the times when brown and lake trouts are abundant. King salmons can also be caught occasionally.

  • July

    During the month of July, king salmons start to show up in good numbers. This is also a preferable time to fish for brown trout, a sought-after species by many anglers because of its ability to jump readily in the air as a part of its play routine.

  • August

    Experience the thrill of catching one of Alaska’s most prized fishes, the king salmon! The month of August is the prime time for this kind of fish.

  • September and October

    For September and October, you can look forward to fishing king and coho salmons. Steelhead fishing generally has its peak later in October.

Walleye Season

  • May through October

    During this 6 month period, you can look forward to an abundant amount of Walleye passing through the area, which means great fishing for all involved.
